Tameshigiri, which is cutting practise, sword on sale now. Great opportunity to club or team to invest Japanese quality with all parts of the sword. The blade is 3 layer aluminium for durable use, center is hard for edge, outer layer is softer for giving flexibility and durability on hard impacts and surface is shiny hard layer. The sword is durable for cutting practise and the tructure is similar to a nihonto for cutting in many ways - also the blade. Razor sharp the edge is not, but enough for cutting practise. Blood groove does not included to give more durability to blade and weight is more than 1000g and so it is effective in cutting practise. The blade is not wide or thick as normal tameshigiri nihonto(tameshigiri nihonto blade might be up to 15mm x 65mm), but it is bulky enough to cut more than 1 target - I recomend this for only 1 target to really practise the swing, cutting angle, cutting impacts and the use of Japanese sword for cutting. The idea of the product is to offer top quality sword with all parts like in nihonto and after the practise learn how to use and swing nihonto (a Japanese sword - hand-forged from tamahagane steel).
Cutting practise is one of the important learning ways of using the Japanese sword. Cutting practise will give you knowledge how to grip and handle the sword, cutting angle and technical power use. e.g. in kendo the cutting practise is vital to understand tenouchi and e.g. Do-strike. In iaido the cutting practise gives much information for sword movement and the idea of kata of the impact moment and the techinical swing and gives your kata beautiful form and effective look.

1. A shipment including iaito ja hakama in special size has left from Japan (ARR 18.6.2026 - arrived to stock), including Aikikai-hakama koshi-ita(back plate). Leather tsuba(bokuto daito/bokken), red and white oak wooden sword small amount with some white oak Jo-stick. Some naginata items is included. Some sword parts by inquiry is included like kurigata-shitomdome etc. 2.45shaku iaito Nikken arriving to stock - also 2.5shaku iaitos arriving (reserved - please follow if there is any available after arrival).

2. Super express shipment leaving from Japan: Kakubi (all colors), white tabi in size 28cm,29cm ja 30cm and Geta(wooden sandals) size 3L. ARR 17.6.2026 arrived to stock.

3. The large amount of wooden weapon production is finaly getting ready. Basic white oak wooden weapons should be ready in June and ETA to stock in July [edit 23.7.2026, many items ready, production ready of all items end of August - ETA September in stock]. Some special size white oak daito with kenmune shape is under production. White oak Jo-stick is included (4.2shaku/~127cm - note! aikidoka and jodoka). The shipment is from valuable carpenter which I rank to top - over 10 years of co-operation with the carpenter and quality is always best with shape, finishing and wood quality. Some special items is included and I hope to have them with the shipment( 9.6. special items confirmed to be included). No reservations from this order pre-hand available.

20 years of service for budo and koryu people! Unbelievable but true and huge thank you every customer. 2004 my company was established to serve all enthuasist of japanese martial arts. Company main principles was to serve with high knowhow, high quality products and reasonable prices - this still holds.
Lot of experience has been formed around this with the customers and the manufacturers in the World. For the anniversary year I have set up the goal of getting more and more info to my website to help every budoka/koryuka from a beginner to a master.
Thank you for all coaches and senseis for the trust to send beginners to my shop and start the path with Meijin Budoshop products. I will do my best that every person who will be served in Meijin Budoshop will get the easy way to start path and to be served with high knowhow - in this field I will learn every day something new and I appreciate all the info I will get from each person.

After Covid it has been difficult to get some of those products enough which has been huge part of the selections. Transportation and raw material has been many times an issue during 2023. Some of the manufacturers has discontinued during 2022-2023 because of this. For now it looks like most of the selection is available in future and new products will arrive annually - also to replace the missing items like protectors for kendo and iaido which are one field of discontinued manufacturing of professional maker.
Wooden weapons has not been available as much as needed due to the lack of raw material, high demand and transportation. Meijin Budoshop wooden weapon selection mainly stays at it is, but some materials might not be available or very rarely - February 2024 will tell more if some items will be discontinued. The master carpenter has had some manufacturing difficulties and this might affect to the future of japanese high quality wooden weapons also. Replacing of items with Finnish products or any other is possible and will be seen during 2024.
Overall my company has been growing during past year and all the available items in stock has been in better situation after 2022. There has been some development with resellers in Europe and the service network will be worked out during 2024 more and more.
